I can follow you guys all the way. In the mid 70′S Betty and I drove that route 5 times as we were in Belize leading Study Service terms. Some where east of Mexico City we broke a drive shaft in the van we were driving and I experienced hitchhiking in Mexico to get repairs. Incidentally, I also experienced the warm hospitality of rural Mexico.

Wow! What an awesome journey! I came across your adventure quite by accident (the Weathervane; my daughter goes to EMU) and I’m thouroughly amused. Your reports and photos are great and make me wish I was there too. I totally love cultura latinoamericana, have visited some countries, and am fluent in Spanish - so I can re-live some of my experiences vicariously through your posts
May God guide and comfort you through all the ups and downs, lefts and rights of your motivating experience! Peace, George
